GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ART IMPOSITION TO PRODUCT FORME LAYOUT (DRAWING) OR KEYLINE SUPPLIED.
The keyline shows the outside of the product or the cut line. All creases generally fold away from you.
The keyline (forme drawing) supplied is for art to be printed on the outside or inside.
Clear sheet can have print on outside or inside to be seen from outside. If not specified, we will set this art up to be printed on the outside. Fineline embossed clear sheet prints on the inside to be seen from the outside.
If you wish to print on the inside to be seen from the inside (for example, print on inside of a binder or satchel), then a separate keyline must be supplied. (The keyline needs to be reflected in illustrator).
SCREENPRINTING
- Bleeds for cutting and creasing
Generally, all screenprint ink can be cut through. Apply a 5mm bleed over all edges. Solid ink (no tone) generally can't be creased through, particularly on heavier gauge materials, so print must stop 1mm either side of all crease lines. Print with tone (made up of screen print dots) can generally be creased through.
There may be exceptions to these rules. Every job is different and needs special consideration. Please let us see your art in PDF format so that we can offer advice.
OFFSET PRINTING
- Bleeds for cutting and creasing
Offset can be cut and creased through. Apply a 5mm bleed over all edges.
PRINTING ON COLOURED SHEET
Colour matching to PMS colours will be as accurate as possible, although in general terms it is very difficult to accurately match PMS colours when printing directly onto coloured sheet. Achieving PMS colours on sheets other than white may not be possible.
A white pass of ink may have to be printed first up, which could add cost. However, achieving registration may be a problem in some cases, especially under type. Please ask our advice.

Printing certain PMS colours onto clear, frosted or fineline sheet, may leave ink transparent.
FOIL STAMPING
In general, foil stamping over screen printed material cannot be achieved.
PRINTABILITY
You may email us a PDF as you are working on your art, so we can advise you on printability, registration, and how best to achieve the results you are looking for. Every job is different and needs special consideration.

DO A MOCK-UP
When setting art up to a 3 dimensional product such as a document wallet, we suggest that you prepare a paste up of your art on to a sample product to make sure that the artwork fits, and works the way you expect it to work. If you request KoDan Oz to prepare your artwork from your eps files, a cost will be incurred which will be quoted on sighting your files. Once we set up the art we will email you a pdf for approval. The onus is on you to check carefully all the text for grammatical and spelling errors, and to check graphics for accuracy. The checking and approval process is critical to ensure your ring binder or folder or presentation wallet is printed precisely to your specicifications. Should you not carefully check and proof read for errors, any costs incurred to reprint or rework will be your responsibility.
